Outdoor applications are common and Kooltronic has NEMA 3R and NEMA 4/4X air conditioners and heat exchangers that are ideal for these situations. Recently, Kooltronic Integrity Series Air Conditioners were specified for a major mass transit project on the East Coast. The NEMA 4/4X rated air conditioners are being used on cabinets controlling traffic at stations along a light rail line connecting two well-known cities.

Made of 304-2B stainless steel, the patented Integrity Series Air Conditioners are designed specifically for NEMA 4/4X enclosures which require wash-down, are subject to outdoor storm conditions or other harsh environments. The series is available in five heights from 21 to 59 inches and capacities ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 BTU/H.

Standard features include a thermostatic low temperature control, EMI/RFI suppressor, internal corrosion protection and CFC-free refrigerant. Options include a cooling effect detector, low-ambient kit to maintain sufficient operating pressures when ambient temperatures drop below 50°F and a short cycle protector.
