Enclosure Cooling for Wastewater, Water Treatment & Irrigation Applications
The corrosive environments typically found in wastewater facilities, and industries where water treatment processes result in harsh chemical by-products, usually preclude the use of filtered ambient air for cooling electrical panels and control cabinets. To effectively maintain process equipment such as pumps and variable-frequency drives (VFDs) in water treatment applications, the cooling method requires isolation of the sensitive electronic components from the surrounding corrosive air. In these situations, the best solution is closed-loop cooling using an enclosure air conditioner or a heat exchanger - both of which consist of two separate circulation systems within a single unit. Enclosure AC units rated NEMA 4X often provide the best protection from the corrosive conditions that are common in wastewater plants and water treatment facilities.
