Kooltronic, Inc., of Pennington, NJ, the leading manufacturer of air conditioners, heat exchangers, fans and blowers for electronic enclosures, announced the introduction of its new Advantage Series Filter Fans.

These attractive, low-profile Filter Fans are a cost-effective cooling solution for a variety of applications where it is acceptable to use filtered ambient air, and where the equipment can tolerate temperatures slightly above ambient. The fan’s flat profile keeps the unit from protruding from the cabinet wall, blending well with modern enclosures.

Standard features include durable, attractive plastic grilles, synthetic fiber filter media and quiet ball-bearing fans. Installation is simple with the provided elastic hooks and integrated seal which requires no additional hardware. A wide range of dimensions allows filter fans to be mounted in openings with a tolerance range of .06 inches and a plate thickness of between .06 inches and .09 inches.

Both 115V and 230V units (CSA and CE approved) are available, with airflows ranging from 32 to 988 CFM. Five sizes are offered from 4.13 inches(w) x 4.13 inches(h) x 2.63 inches(d), to 12.80 inches(w) x 12.80 inches(h) x 5.90 inches(d). Standard airflow is from the outside to the inside of the enclosure, with reverse airflow kits available. The seal on the standard version provides IP54 dust and water protection according to the EN60529 Standard.

DC powered filter fans are available in select sizes. Options available for the Advantage Filter Fans include shielding against electromagnetic interferences (EMI), and select units are available with IP55 protection. They are rated at a 97% separation efficiency according to the DIN 24185 Standard.
